Pokemon Galacta - A Complete Pokemon FireRed Hack

Pokemon Galacta is a complete Pokemon FireRed hack which I created in 2014-15. This hack introduces an entirely new region with new storyline, characters and places along with about 250-300 Pokemon from first three generations.

Introduction:

Welcome to the all new region of Azurus where a great pokemon adventure awaits you! Travel across the land filled with numerous pokemon from the first three generations! Catch pokemon and battle your way through eight Gyms to reach your goal to become the Pokemon Champion! But the path ahead is not easy. The region is speculating about a strange meteor seen few weeks ago while havoc is raised in the region by a gang of pokemon criminals called TEAM METEOR, whose leader aims at winning over the world! Will you face all odds and prove yourself the greatest Pokemon trainer. Play Pokemon Galacta right now!!!

Features:

• New Region Azurus with new storyline, characters, places, terrains, etc.
• About 250-300 Pokemon from first 3 generations (No Fakemons!)
• New Evil Gang TEAM METEOR who is trying to rule the world using powers of Pokemon.

• New Starter: Seel (Water), Slugma (Fire), Cacnea (Grass)
• All the original starter Pokemon as well as baby Pokemons can be caught in game.

Important Notes:

• This game is Free-To-Play for everyone - Don't be fooled by anyone who is trying to sell it!
• You are free to distribute this game as is with your friends, through your website, etc but do give me the necessary credits/acknowledgement as the original creator. However, you are not allowed to modify it and then re-distribute with new name/changes.
  
• To play this game right, make sure to to talk to everyone you see, read all the signposts and check out anything that looks interesting. After battling trainers, talk to them again as well. This will give you enough info and hints to proceed.
  
• Though I have tested this game well and it is pretty much OK, there are changes that some unknown bugs may arise. So it is advised that you save your game frequently and keep backup. Some known bugs and their solutions are documented below.
  
• Don't use any cheats/cheat devices - I have no idea what they may do to the game.
• The hack is available in two versions - Original and Advanced. Both are almost similar with some differences as mentioned below:
• Advanced version fixes some of the bugs present in Original version.
• There are some differences in characters, Pokemon teams and levels in the two versions.
• Difference In Content (Especially on Rigid Island).

•  I had published this hack years ago on Google Sites (Link). I have created this post as a replacement for this Info page. Note: If you ever tried to contact me using the info on the original Google Site page, I wouldn't have received that because I had lost all the access credentials some time ago.
• "Pokemon", the original Pokemon FireRed and other related things are the property of their respective owners. Only the modification made on the original game is mine. The intention behind creating this hack is not to gain any monetary or other benefit but to provide Pokemon gaming fans with a new fan-made Pokemon adventure, and to pay tribute to the original Pokemon FireRed game.

Below are the download links to Lunar IPS (.ips) files of hack. You have to apply the hack file as a patch to the Original Pokemon FireRed (v1.0) ROM using Lunar IPS application. Search online (using Google, etc) for Lunar IPS to download this small application. The process of applying the patch is very simple - Just search online for steps and you will be able to do it in no time.

Known Limitations:

• The graphics, tiles and music used in the hack are same as original game. So even though the storyline, characters, places, etc are new, the 'feel' would be similar to original game.
• The Intro of the game (Prof. Oak and Pikachu one) couldn't be altered.
• World map looks similar to the original one.
• Trading, multiplayer battling, etc are not available.
• Any Pokemon which evolved via Trade wasn't included.
• Pokedex may give wrong location for some Pokemon.

Some Known Bugs and Their Solutions: 

• The Intro for the new game/story is not available directly as the "Pikachu" and "Prof. Oak" intro couldn't be altered - The actual Intro is available as the posted message near the stairs in your room.
  
• The game might hang at certain places sometimes (like the game may hang when you talk to nurse at PokeCenter) - Load the previously saved game (or the previously saved state), move about a bit and then save again properly (here, I mean the actual save which comes in the START menu, not Save State). Then reset the game and load this saved game. This method works well if you save near the problematic area (like if the problem is in PokeCenter, save outside or inside it.)
• The town map (or World map) shows that after Route 19, there is Route 20 which has Rigid Island and then at the end is Valor Island. This is the wrong sequence. - The actual sequence is after Route 19, there is Rigid Island, then Valor Island and then Route 20.
• It is not possible to FLY to or from Rigid Island - You can easily FLY to or from Valor Island which is very close to Rigid island. You can very easily go from one to other island using SURF.
• In the Meteor Building in Corio City, if you use lift to go to 10F or 11F, the game will restart - The lift works only till 9F. 10F can be accessed by the warp panel on 3F. 11F is actually not present so don't try to go there.
• When you talk to Prof. Freak in the old lab on Route 25, the message is missing (Only for Pokemon Galacta Original version). - This problem is corrected in the Pokemon Galacta (Advanced Version). For the original version, the missing message is: "I and my team used to research on Ghost pokemon in this lab. But due to financial problems, we had to close the research and the lab."
• The game may slow down sometimes. - This is not a big problem. The game will automatically speed up again. You can try to move about a bit, or move in or out of some door. Other way is to save the game and reload.
• At certain places, you may see someone like you. The game hangs on interacting with it - Don't talk to him/her or go near him/her.
• At a few places, it might be possible that if you open any menu (like Bag, Pokemon, etc) and then close it (or you start a battle and then it ends), you may be controlling some other character or may be a duplicate character of yours, which can't move much. - At those places, don't battle or open any menu. Atleast, don't do so with that person (which you start controlling as the menu closes or battle ends) on the screen.
