CIA Operative: Solo Mission (PC) - Mission Walkthrough

CIA Operative: Solo Mission is a fairly easy and short FPS, released around 2001 for PC by Valusoft and Trainwreck. Here, you play the role of a CIA operative who undergo 6 single-player missions. The game is less-known and has unfavorable reviews in general, due to low graphics, poor enemy AI, etc. Personally, I found the game to be fine because it is simple and short - can be completed within 3-4 hours.

I couldn't find any walk-through for this game anywhere so I decided to make one.

Things To Note:

1. The game has a strict "No Civilian Kill" policy. Mission is aborted if you kill any civilian. So watch your fire and kill only enemies.
2. Only three weapons available - silenced pistol (generally used for short range, less noise), SMG (mid range, fast fire) and sniper (long range, has scope, usually one shot kill)
3. Ammo is dropped by enemies when killed so it is easily available. Med-kit (to replenish health) and Kevlar (to increase protection) are less common - You need to break some crates or search behind corners for them.
4. Keep note of the mission updates and info provided by the guy on telecom.
5. Take cover behind crates, etc while taking enemy fire.
6. Head-shots usually do one hit kill.
7. You can quick save/load game at any point - Use this feature wisely.
8. Red Barrels explode when shot - Use this to your advantage.

Missions:
1. Assassinate Drug Lord Enrico: Your mission is to assassinate Drug Lord Enrico. You are on a rooftop near his favorite club in Bogota. Ready your sniper. A limo will arrive below your building and the drug lord will come out with two girls by his side. Kill the guy using the sniper but don't hurt the girls. Then go down using lift (just bump into the buttons to activate it) and kill his henchmen (No need for stealth - nobody cares!). Now go down the road south of your building to subway, where rest of his henchmen are present. There will be many civilians around so watch your fire as you kill these henchmen while progressing through the subway.

2. Blow up Enrico's Secret Drug Lab: You are behind a building near (now dead) Enrico's Coffee Plant with secret drug lab underground. There are some guards around on rooftops and towers so use your sniper to kill them. Enter the compound, go up the stairs on right (kill any enemy in the way), enter the room on right and shoot the white electricity boxes - This should disable the surveillance cams which alerts other guards (but I personally didn't see much difference anyhow). Now go down the stairs and make way through the crates area on your right, killing the guards on the way. In the end, you will see red lit stairs going down. Proceed further killing the henchmen and in the end, there will be a room where you will prompted to place the bomb (There is also a side-room before where you can get a med-kit). As soon as you plant the bomb, you have 1.5 minutes to exit the compound. Make your way back while killing the guards on the way.

3. Neutralize Biological Missiles And Blow Up Weapon Compound: You are in a secret weapons compound in Ukraine belonging to mafia boss Boris Kopov. There are many guards patrolling around - Take cover behind crates, kill them and enter the compound via the door in front. When inside the compound, if you go left, you would most probably be killed by machine gun turrets. Go right and make way killing the guards and shoot the white electricity box in the end room - This will disable the turrets. Now go back to the left path and make way to the room containing biological missiles (killing the guards on the way is a given!). Neutralize each of the 3 missiles through their open panels, then go up the platform on the side (where red explosive boxes are present) and plant the bomb. Make your way out through the red door on the other side of the warehouse and jump on the back of the truck in the end (Don't worry, your partner is an excellent driver!).

4. Assassinate Boris Kopov: This mission is a bit trickier and difficult than rest. You are outside the casino in Moscow where you have to assassinate mafia boss Boris Kopov (remember you blew up his weapon compound!). This is an undercover operation so you are just given a silenced pistol and you must maintain your cover while inside the casino. Keep your weapon holstered and enter the casino. Make your way past the reception, hallway and main casino area - Note there are civilians all around so keep your weapon holstered. There will be a guard guarding the stairway who won't allow you to enter. Go left and make your way to the restroom. The last box will be open and you can see a closed vent above. Climb up the toilet and shoot the vent with your pistol - The vent will break open. Make your way through the vent.

Now there is no need to keep the weapon holstered. Shoot the exit vent open and then kill the guards in the restroom on other side. Make way through the hallway (head-shot the one guard standing in the way) and now you are in-front of red laser detectors which are linked to machine gun turrets. You need to jump and crouch your way carefully without touching the red lines, otherwise the turrets will obliterate you. Once done, Boris is in the next room to the right.

You may think that this mission is over as soon as you shoot Boris - Nope! This Boris guy is either wearing a full body alien technology Kevlar or his big fat body can absorb bullets - anyway, he can't be killed by just 3-4 shots. As you shoot him, he runs away while shooting back at you - You need to follow him and shoot loads of bullets to kill him before he exit the casino. His guards will come in the way, shooting at you and you also need to be careful about not hitting any civilian in the hallway or main casino area. Another issue is that this pursuit also go through the same red-laser-line-turret area where Boris can run freely but you need to be careful to not engage the turrets.

It took me 3-4 tries to complete this mission but I was able to beat it using the following strategy - Just follow Boris, shooting him continuously. Keep pace with him and don't lose sight of him for long, otherwise he will escape. To do that, don't waste much time on killing all those guards on the way - if possible, just run past them. Doing head-shots with guards will help as they do one hit kill. You may lose a bit time in jumping and crouching around the red-laser-line-turret area but it would be better than running through and getting killed by turrets. Another thing might help - When you start the mission, instead of entering the casino immediately, go right and at the end of the narrow path, you will find Kevlar which provide additional protection.

A (weird/interesting) thing I found in this mission: In the restroom, you know one of the box is occupied as you can see someone's feet from below. What I found weird was that those feet looked like that of some Gorilla or Chimpanzee. When you try to interact with the door, the person inside just grunts (or does he just farts? - I don't know!)

5. Neutralize Iraqi Missiles: Mohammad Hussein, (supposed) son of Saddam Hussein of Iraq, is developing missiles at his weapon compound - You need to infiltrate the compound and add combative agents to them, to make them inert. Jump over the crates and fence to enter the compound. There will be many guards on ground as well as on towers so watch out. Make your way through the outer compound, killing the guards using sniper or SMG. At the end of the outer compound, you find that the warehouse gate is closed - You need to get the guards to open the gate somehow. There are some red barrels nearby - Shoot them and the explosion sound will make the guards open the gate and come out. Kill them and proceed inside.

There will be many guards so keep your weapon ready and refill ammo whenever possible. Make your way through the warehouse to the security system room (small room with computers). Open the door to the lift using the security system and then proceed further. Use the lift to go down and proceed to missile room. Once you reach the missiles, neutralize both of them through their open panels. Your work is done but the alarm went off and now, all guards are coming to kill you. Make your back out, killing the guards on the way.

Note: There is a Kevlar in the guard bedroom (near the security system room) and a med-kit near the lift which could be useful.

6. Kill Mohammad Hussein In His Palace: Final mission so expect lots of guards to kill. Make your way into the palace, killing the enemies in the way. Watch your health and pickup ammo whenever possible (There is also a med-kit in one of the crates on the way). After many corridors and rooms, you will face Hussein and his henchmen in a hall. Kill the henchmen before handling Hussein. Like Boris, Hussein also don't get killed in 3-4 shots but he doesn't seem to run away and takes much less time to get killed (Moreover, you have SMG and Sniper in this mission). After killing him, make your way out through the exit path.

In the end however, there is a bit of a catch - Your rescue team is taking fire and will take about 1.5 minutes to reach you. You need to survive this time period, handling the guards which keep coming. Do this and the game finishes with the credits roll.
